As compared to other professions in the civilian world, the Indian Navy has a great deal to offer to young men and women.
The Indian Navy Band is one of the best bands in Asia. The Naval Musicians, known as unofficial ambassadors of the country, are trained in using the finest instruments. As a Musician Officer you will be responsible for conducting the acclaimed Naval Band at ceremonies and symphonic band concerts in India/abroad.
Candidates selected will undergo 44 weeks Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishment /Units/Ships.
A Bachelor's Degree from recognized university (relaxed to Higher Secondary for applicant having exceptional professional ability in music).
Ability to play competently at least one military band musical instrument, in addition to the Piano-Forte. Should possess one of the following Diplomas or equivalent (LRAM/ARCM/ATCL).
Experience as a Conductor of an Orchestra/Band or as a Teacher of Music (Subject to their performance).
